			Looking toward the deployment of WSNs in time-critical application domains, this paper outlines a new, hierarchical 
			MAC protocol that, coupled with the Sensor Network Calculus, enables the delay and reliability properties of networks

			maintaining the anticipated delay and reliability properties.
