Short book (3 hours to read), but very powerful. Goes through the life of a man in a review process after he dies. Shows the difference he made to others and others made to him.
Very well written, full of twists, good suspence build up. Ab. Stealing of American Dec. Independence by Sadam + CIA and MOSAD's plan to reteive it.
The evil charactors are positivly evil and very 3 dimentional. The good charactors.. Seem to have a hard time, and often die.
Amazing. Charactors come to life and their faults (while no simpler) are clearer than our own.
2 Newspaper barrons battle it out. Each chapter ends with a new twist in the tale.
Brilliant. Twist at end Amazing.
Author Recommended by Jeffery Saffer, Counterpoint 97. Extreamely unsetteling. A covert Operation story that's closer to reality than fiction. The 11 Commandment : You shall not get caught.
Short stories
Short stories. His novels are much better than this collection of short stories.
continuation of Kane and Able, and the Prodigel daughter
Short stories a brilliant! Specially for trail journeys or a short break from work.
Very good detective / sci-fi novel - but what else would you expect from Asimov?

Good Sci Fi

A mix of adverture, mystery and Jewish mystercism

Final in the trillogy of the "Knight of the word". More of a thriller then a fantasy book I think.
Tom Clancy style novel.. But language is not as complicated.
Easy reading. Funny, a bit offencive at times, misses some important stuff, but all in an easy going, fun way. Light.
Fast paced, an interlectual thriller in a way but also a book with strong charactors and a reflection of university life
book 1. Fantasy novel by an Australian author
book 3Good final novel, only it looks like there's more to come.
Decent, good charactors... Doesn't have the pull the pull of some other similar stories. Could be because it's the start of a trillogy.
book 2
Brilliant sence of poetic Justice
A "power plays" novel. High Tech.
Set in 2000 which makes it strange. Story line good, but style lacking.
Not too technical. (CF ussual) Actually written by Jeff Rovin (sneeky publishing). Plot simple, but well written.
Op Center book
Fairly to formula. Rather dated in many respects.
Full Title: Tom Clancy's Netforce Explorers Shadow of Honour
Very Techincal and Very Heavy
(21st Bday present from Sarah.) "To realize one's destiny is a person's only obligation"
A retelling of the biblical story of the proffet Elija.
Read in under 5 hours. The "hero" is the bad guy, who seems to be "evil". Story is not at all deep, charactors are also shallow, and structure wonders all over the place as is a bit repedative.
As good as brothers by Bernice Rubens
A story of the South, Life post holocauste, family and love. As good as magician but in it's own way
Story of life on the streets of Sydney
Science fiction novel about advanced societies '000 of years ago, and a warning about aproaching calamity. Well writen, scientific but also adventure based.
NON FICTION. A diary by Dayan's daughter about the 1967 sinai campaign
Terrorist negitiation.
Not as good as Debt of Honour but close ! Compulsive Reading
Islamic terrorism novel before it took off. Fast paced but also greatly detailed and researched.
100/100 if you have the patience ! Dickens like shakespeare is in a class of his own.
* Diplomatic deceit, * Flesh and blood, * fright wave. "casefiles, Collectors edition". Good quick read, 1 a day.
Part1 (of 2) of "Mordant's Need". Fantasy about kingdoms and magic mirrors.
Part2 (of 2) of "Mordant's Need". Fantasy about kingdoms and magic mirrors.
Fantasy novel (start of series) recommended by person at Wordsworth.
Very intersting but also extreamely badly written.
Hard book to read, heavy sci-fi with a touch of fantasy
A historical analysis of the journey of an Egyptian Princess to England
Middle East story of Terrorists and those trying to stop them.
First read in 91. Authors Prefered Ed. 10am 14th to 7:59pm 16 only having 4 hours sleep. Been rating others too high. Re-read 15-18/12/2000 100/100.
sequel ro "Talon of the Silver Hawk". A nice relaxing read.
Sequel to Krondor the Betrayal
Decent story, most charactors are 1 dimentional though.
The story to the game "Betrayal at Kondor". A "missing" chapter in the Serries. Crit. Glosse sover details too much in an effort to involve as many old charactors as possible.
Charactors lack usual Depth
By "Killing off" old cast, Feist setups his newer charactors with as much force as he did for Calis, Pug, Tomas, Nicolas and "Jimmy the Hand". Skill and inspiration shines through revealing what he truly can do. Brilliant! I cried when a char died.
Part of Legendas of the RiftWar, writtin with Steven Stirling. A relativly light and very easy read.
A good start.. This could develop into something good but this is only the very start
Brilliant flow
By Raymond E. Feist and William Forstchen
Started afternoon of 22 finished 5am on 23. Very Good, but lacking CF Magician.
Re-Read to refresh prior to reading Rise of a Merchant Prince.
Much less magic that fiests others but a lot of polical integue.
good, definitly the middle of a continuing story though.
Very good but while the sub plots and charactors have depth, they are nto AS deep as in magician. The empathy is there but less than it could be.
semi-light but compulsive read
Brilliant ! Good story very well written.
Fantasy spy story
read on train
A man looses his memory and finds he;s being shaddowed by the CIA.
Brilliant as ussual. Started 9pm finnished 5am.

Based on Gulf war. A spy is run in Bagdad. Mossad, CIA, SAS.
Short Stories. Endings a bit predictable.
Mark Twain is a pen name for Samuel Langhorn Clements.
Good book, very funny in places
Quite good though depth is somewhat spoilt as humour is attempted in stead.
Makes heavy on understanding from past books.. Which I don't fully recall. Story line is ok, but a bit disjointed.
Fantasy novel (start of series) recommended by person at Wordsworth. Sequel to Wizards first rule.
Fantasy novel (start of series) recommended by person at Wordsworth.
Interesting historicly based novel. Ending a bit of an anti climax. Otherwise would be much more highly rated.
Light Reading
Historical Novel about the bombing of a temple in Atlanta Georgia in 1958. Also about Martin Luther King and Civil rights.
A good read, but light.
good mystery / adventure story
started on train
A very funny war story about a bunch of actors in the british army that get stranded the wrong side of the front line.
ficticous story based around the historical events at Bletchley Park in WWII
Very funny at times but in a black humour disconnected way
Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. A little boring, can't explain why though.
A story of twin brothers, both fighter piolets, on different sides of WWII. A "Special Opertations Executive" mission in the middle of the war.
Ok, but far from his best.
A Confederate Colonel goes to Island at the end of the Civil War for peace and quiet. There he enters the fight of the Irish.
WWII special operations executive
Quick read but decent.
Lancaster station mentioned on page 276!
Book3, Liveship Traders set. A much better ending than the Farseer trilogy.
Not highly exiting, but very solid. A good set up for the next book in the serries.
Good start to a new serries
Book1, Liveship Traders set
Book 1 of the Tawny Man set
book three of the Farseer Trilogy. Very good, deeply engaging. All it lacks from magician is an element of compassion, particularly the ending where there is no reason to be so harsh.
book two of the Farseer Trilogy
Book2, Liveship Traders set
book one of the Farseer Trilogy
Book two of the Emperor series.
Good solid story with a lot of Roman history behind it.
Volume 1 of the well of echoes serries
Language ok, but charctors and plot show certain biases eg main charators are repeatedly told they're "young" and treated like kids, when their ages are given as 25.
Volume two of "the well of echoes".
Much better. NOW, finally, some meaning to whats been behind it all, and some twists. The serries should be reduced to one volume. It's a decent story but told with WAY to many words and volumes.
A novel about feminism, writing and life in general. Deep and powerful but often sad.
Douglas Adams's Ideas explanded by his friend Terry Jones. Light & funny.
looks like a good start but.. Charactors lack the depth they could have. Book 1 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Book 5 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Wheek of time presquel.
Book 2 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Book 3 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Book 11, wheel of time.
some very good moments. Book 6 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Book 4 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Book 7 of the Wheel of Time serries.
Book 8 of the Wheel of Time serries.
good fanatasy book
Re-read. First read after borrowing from Piano teacher. 95 ? 96 ? Spy story about Mossad tracking down terrorists with the help of a British actress.
Another George Smiley story
Written in a confusion manner that only makes sence at the end.
Effectivly a collectionof short spy stories
Under 3 hours reading, but still very enjoyable. :-)
Very short for a fantasy novel, but compact rather then just shallow.
Sequel to Alistair MacClean's Force 10 from Navarone.
Sci-Fi / Spy. Americans are tapping local british calls from there base in England. Plausable plot, good pacing, not too long.
99.9 = 99+
Very good, though I did see where it was going by the end of book one. Despite all the twists and turns, that's hwere it ended up.
Absolutly brilliant. An almost perfect manual to British politics including those of the students union.
Also very good (as per Complete Yes Minister). A good laugh, but not quite as brilliant as the original politically. Still great though!
The scientific elementis even more relevant today than at the time of writting. * Earth Quakes, * Plate Techtonics, * Nuclear power / wepons, * Tidal waves.
WWII setting. Action packed, similar to James bond. English is VERY dated. I comment sulfurically. :-)
The last 3 lines are unneaded and degrade the ending.
A bit like "underseige" (the movie). The hijack of a luxury Cruiser, and the attempt to steal $150 mil of goldbeing transported to Fort Knox . . .
More power than the Talismon of troy. Still very heavy in the research, but a good read.
historical and a bit dense. But still a good read.
Decent story but a bit shallow
The story of the operations that one Haganah member was invovled with durring the british mandate and in the early days of Israel.
book 7 of the "Tomorrow" trilligy. Hmm. Predictable in many ways, but still fast paced, and well written. "Crackles" with tention.
Charactors are again 3D
Nothing Happens ! Very repedative. Creates Cleches
Fantasy but a light read.
Nivel about an archiological dig in Israel. Story switches between the dig and the story the atrifacts tell. Ok.. But seems to have become a bit dated.
high level English
Philosophically deep. A little harder to read than many other authors, but well worth the effort.
The incorporated blend of history of both church and europe make it interesting.
Subtitled "The Voyage of the St. Louis." Co Auther Max Witts. TRUE HOLOCAUSTE STORY. Touching with excelent attention to detail.
Looks like the start of a very good serries
Light Reading
Spy Novel
Romance / Jewish History
An ok fantasy story, book is a bit too centered on the film (which I haven'tseen)
Very Good courtroom Drama
South African story by SA's most aclaimed author. Short but with brilliant discriptions. A heart warming story.
gripping. A naval (submarine) mission with the fate of the war (WWII) in the balance. Very factual, but incorporated well. Not too over the top as per some.
Very powerful esp. Considering p/g length (under 300). Emotionaly Draining.
Book 1 of the disc world serries
Book 2 of the disc world serries
Book 6 of the Disc World Serries
Funny in an odd sort of way. Book 4 of the disc world serries
Book 3 of the disc world serries
Book 5 of the Disc World Serries
first read of terry pratchet.
Disc World Novel number 8
Make more sernse than Pratchetts usual work
A spy adventure story, but without the depth of research such books usually have. Some things are simply not right.
Different style. Very indian Jones like. More of a movie synopsis than a book. Has the core but is missing the development.
Powerfull. Pasionate and violent. But mostly VERY powerfull.
Thecnically wrong in placed. Eg uses "un-encrypt" rather then decrypt. (This is annoying).
Sci-Fi about colonising mars,
Book 5. Started off fairly badly but improved.
Modern (fictisous) Dreyfus trial. Jewish / post Holocaste. Dreyfus is falsly accused and the book is partly his biography, and partly a narative. Very Good, hard to put down.
Translation of a spanish novel about a cemetery of forgotten books. Brilliant.
NON FICTION: "A history of Israel - from the rise of Zionism to our time." Covers Zionism frm 1800 to Yitzchak Rabins Assasination. Goves both praise and critisism. Lots of quotes, primary and sec.
17/1 11:50pm to 18/1 4am AND THEN 10am to 12pm. Very touching compares well to Greyfriers Bobby.
Funny, short, and quirky. A good read.
AFTER STUDY 9/10 Read with out study 5/10
Anti-terrorist novel. A bit... Light on story line.
relativly quick read, easy to start and stop. :) About a rescue mission through a country at war, to rescue civilians and diamonds
Continues story of "the burning shore".
We written as always.
Ocean Salvage tug story.
3D charactors but no story line.
Interesting but hard work to read. Often very like reading through an acadmeic paper (of the more readbale sort I admit)!
Abridged Version. (Abridged by Oliver Jones)
NON FICTION. A selection of quotes from a variety of sources. Has all the esentials and then a bit more. Covers every thing from Holocauste to Bioethics.
A novel about the lead up to the invasion of occupied Europe. - A comic novel. Funny but also very serriouse.
Puctuation book. Funny but interesting and useful too.
Mark Twain is a pen name for Samuel Langhorn Clements.
A connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court. Twains last great novel. Shows his distrust of all forms of Government ! A rather cynical novel in many ways.
A great book, serrious but very entertaining.
True Holocauste story. Rec by Warren Lewis.
Although it doesn't look like it for the 1st 1/4, the book is a holocauste story, speciffically about human experiments. Raw Horror.
Read prior to starting this list. Another VERY good Jewish Story. Ab. Ghetto uprising.
Brilliant story of the creation of Israel, gives some amazing insite into the current political issues the use of the palastinian arabs as a political wepon (considering it was written in 1958.. this is worth reading pg 551 to 554)
Tom Clancy style novel, but easier to follow. Ab. Second Holocauste
The Gulf War Crissis. Rec by Warren Lewis.
Story lacking style brilliant.
SF space story. Last book of some serries. Haven't read the rest though. :)
Very good book covering many topics related to Nazism and Anti-Semitism.
Autobiography of MI5's first scientific officer. (Later Assistant Director). Details workings of MI5, MI6 and mentions others eg FBI, ASIO
ab. Obsesion, Depresion and love. Also Med/Phyc 's birth. Based on facts. Involves Nietzesch (a philosopher) Breuer (a top Jewish Doctor) and a young Freud (the father of physcology)
Good charactors, good story.
ok. Borrows a lot from other classic fantasy books. Still seems to have a Sci Fi core waiting to break through.
Book 2 of a requerium for homosepians (The broken god series)
Not as good the 2nd time (read 1st in 95)
Book 3 of a requerium for homosepians (The broken god series)
