R&R A pretty relaxing day followed by food and drink with Jay and Chris at their house. They'd done a really cool cake for Jayne's birthday which was really nice ! Way to go guys.

Arizona  No pictures but a nice time had by all.

New York OK, the traveling is getting to me. For reasons best known to myself I'd managed to book myself a flight from SFO not San Jose so had to get up _really_ early to make the flight out. I arrived in New York in very heavy rain (the flight in was something else as well - first time I've ever seen a stewardess felled by the turbulence - one minute she was handing out hot towels, the next sitting on the floor - scary!). Drove into town and met Ramon for a Vindigo social and then dinner on the town. Fun evening but then tried to drive up to my hotel in up-state New York. Got very lost and arrived very late. Checked in, fell asleep and then had to get up almost straight away. Was so tired at the conference I was attending that I had to slip out for a few minutes kip in the car during a break :-( Still, presented a GUIDE paper which went down as well as ever. Finished the evening in the Horsefeathers pub in "Historic Sleepy Hollow. Great pub apart from the beer - which was all in cans or bottles - nothing on tap ! How weird is that !

Return trip uneventful and I'm now writing this page on the 21st with a cup of tea and a cookie. It's good to be "home".

Wedding Anniversary Today we celebrated our wedding anniversary by eating ! We went to Brazil in Santa Cruz for brunch and then to the beach for a day of kite flying. In the evening we had cocktails on the wharf followed by dinner at Carniglias. Fantastic.

Spa Total indulgence on Jayne's part today. For her birthday I'd brought her some spa dollars and today she went to the spa in Los Gatos and was utterly pampered. Quote from Jayne, "it was loooovely".

Darkest Peru Today we met Rodger and Doris for wine and Peruvian food - fantastic. The service was bizarre but the food pretty good and the wine (Chilean) absolutely excellent. Did some packing as well :-(
