She was adamant to stay in Lancaster to pursue her studies, after completed her masters degree in September 2002. In January 2003, she enrolled in the MPhil/PhD program. She is now a PhD candidate at Computing Department, Lancaster University, under the supervision of Prof. Alan Dix.

she dedicates this space to her work and interests

To be working in the area of Human-Computer Interaction is something that she always wanted to do. Together with her interest in home-and-designs, and, the emergence of ubiquitous computing technology, she started her research on engaging user experience, physical-tangible interaction and domestic technology settings.

Her PhD research is focused on natural interaction of physical things - how this can be used to inform next generation interfaces, i.e. in designing tangible and novel devices to become more natural in the interactive process. In her work, she looks and works very closely with physical gadgets to understand the relationship of states mappings, and to unleash the natural ways we, as humans, use our innate abilities when manipulating with devices.

She is part of Equator -- an Interdiscplinary Research Collaboration (IRC) that focuses on the intergration of physical and digital interaction. Collaboration work in Equator encompasses expertise range from computer sciences, sociology, psychology, design and the art.

She used to be part of the Cakes team that brings the PhD students from the Computing Department with researchers together by organising research presentations and social events.

Back home in Malaysia -- where she is originally from, she is a temporary tutor at Information Systems Department, Faculty of Computer Science & Information Systems, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

she hopes to finish her PhD soon
