I am a researcher and PhD student in the Computing Department at Lancaster University. My current work is concerned with model-driven engineering, or MDE, and its use in industry. Currently, I'm working on a project called EA-MDE: Empirical Assessment of the Efficacy of MDE, with Prof Jon Whittle. This project is a one year pilot and we are actively engaged in gathering information from MDE users in industry. We're using interviews and an online survey for this purpose. I have a long standing interest in component-oriented and service-oriented software engineering - I'm particularly interested in processes that support a "parts" philosophy in software system development. I've been involved in a number of EU IST projects in this area over the last few years, including ECO-ADM, CBSEnet and SeCSE
