26/11/08 @ 1PM: SWIG
I’m off to Manchester tomorrow to present at the Sensors for Water Interest Group meeting and on Sunday I head to Leuven in Belgium for Middleware 2008… I’m looking forward to the Christmas break! One of my friends has an interesting piece in First Monday on online anti-Semitism if you want to check it out.
18/11/08 @ 1PM: Potato Wharf
I stayed over in Manchester on Sunday night after watching Less Than Jake at the Academy. It was a great show and it was nice to be able to chill out afterwards instead of rushing back home to Lancaster. We stayed in a private room at the YHA on Potato Wharf, which was pretty cool if you need a cheap place to stay. I’m working pretty hard at the moment on job applications and flood monitoring work… hopefully I’ll start getting some responses to my applications soon :-) !
13/11/08 @ 1PM: You Move 15 Tons, and What do You Get?
I’ve been working hard this week: job hunting, writing papers and visiting our flood site. I don’t feel like I’m making enough progress though. Still, tomorrow is Friday! :-)
06/11/08 @ 8PM: Mission Accomplished / Yes We Did
It’s been a good week! I enjoyed helping Ben celebrate passing his viva on Monday and some of my friends visited for a big election night party on Tuesday, which as you might imagine had a happy ending. I’m still on tenterhooks to see if Al Franken wins his senate race in Minnesota… here’s hoping!
