20/01/09 @ 10AM: Finishing Up
I’ve been mad busy finishing work on our River Dee flood monitoring sensor network. The network infrastructure is now complete, and all that remains is to connect the remaining depth sensors and deploy some data loggers. This hasn’t been as easy as it sounds though – the commercial loggers we bought had a problem with their firmware, which I have had to fix in embedded C -- yuk! I received confirmation of my appointment at K.U. Leuven over the weekend (see right panel) which I’m looking forward to and I have a few weeks break planned between my Lancaster contract and my Leuven contract.
04/02/2007 @ 3PM: Full Plate
There haven’t been many updates lately as I have a lot on my plate right now (and not just Christmas food). My contract with Lancaster University expires at the end of January and I want to make sure that our flood monitoring deployment is properly squared away before I leave. On top of this I have all of the admin associated with moving to Belgium as well as job-hunting and interviews for after my contract with K.U. Leuven. I like to think that I’m sprinting to the finish, but I also have a few weeks of holiday planned after my contract ends. Obviously, it’s been a particularly ugly start to the new year for Gaza, and I hope the situation resolves itself quickly as this kind of madness benefits no one.
