Abstract
Interdisciplinary has recently
become a focus of research and innovation
in Australian universities. The traditional
university structures, however, have not
historically supported cross-faculty collaborations.
This talk is about the
challenges of working across faculties,
forming and maintaining research teams,
and producing measurable outcomes in one
university setting. Three case studies of
ongoing cross-faculty projects investigating
sociotechnical issues will be used to illustrate
some of the challenges faced by researchers
crossing the faculty divide.
