04.06.06 Burnout
Coding

Mission Complete. School taster day ran relatively smoothly - it was cool to be able to explore the gridsticks via NetRiver (first-person visualisation of nodes and surrounding environment), well what is even more cooler was that we finished it inside the deadline and it worked.

In summary though 4 P2P demos during the session and 1 bonus video (non-P2P), we reckon we dressed to impressed and are hopeful the students went away feeling so too.

Sleepy time.

04.07.06 NetWorld to NetRiver
Coding

It’s now 6.30 AM, we’ve gone from one disaster to another, but we’ve finally got NetWorld running on the gumsticks (see nodes ROOT, B, C, D, E). The P2P network they create during run time can be viewed no problem however we’ve yet to obtain the nitty gritty details such as water depth … arghh!

Our endeavor continues as the 10.50 Am deadline approaches.

03.07.06 I think we do it on purpose
Coding

Me and Danny have another school taster day to prepare for and as always were going to make it up the night before. Wouldn’t have it any other way, the pressure is like sweet nectar, as long as we succeed of course.

Our goal is to take the NetWorld project and have it run over Danny’s P2P flood mointoring prototype.

Split into 2 groups, the first group of students can simulate floods using the demo table and the second can explore the actual P2P network using NetWorld and observe how each node adapts to environmental situation it finds itself in e.g. Node A “I’m about to die…. arghh!”.

Yeah, were a little low on ideas this year, but considering the trouble I had with last years installation (scroll to the last image) and the issues with audience participation (I don’t steal souls for crying out loud), it’ll do.

Time to NetRiver generation . . next day.
