How do you know you’ve stepped into the twilight zone? When inanimate objects shows signs of life (i.e. breathing). This little furball was part of the art exhibit ACE was running; it breathed, felt weird and was introduced with a video of some guy fondling one - freaky.
These exhibits are becoming a regular event at conferences, well the ones I attend anyway (check out my travel diary for DiGRA 2005, there was an art exhibit there as well) and apart from being just plane weird most of the time are a welcome attraction.
If nothing else it’s a nice distraction when there’s nothing going on (i.e. unrelated paper talks) and makes for a good conversation starter when trying to mingle with your fellow delegate.

Furball as art?

For the moment I’m going to update my ACE travel diary sporadically; not something I’d like considering the time and effort I spent on my GDTW one, but .. hey ho. So I will leave you with another picture to add to the photo album. By far one of the best demos at ACE, the Gravity Jock affects your balance according to the track your mixing. After signing the disclosure form I proceeded to ignore the instructions and hit every button with wild abandon.
Safe to say I couldn’t walk straight for a while afterwards. Awesome!
