Professor Hans Gellersen
Hans Gellerson is Professor for Interactive Systems. Previously he was affiliated with the University of Karlsruhe as director of the Telecooperation Office (TecO) from 1996 to 2000, Karlsruhe's Telematics Institute (1993 to 1996) and the University of Kaiserslautern (1992) as Faculty Research Assistant. Hans holds both an MSc and a PhD degree from Karlsruhe. His research interests are in Ubiquitous Computing and human-computer systems that "put the real world into the loop". He is internationally recognized as one of the premier researchers in the field of Ubiquitous Computing and teaches a range
of related courses in the Department.

Dr Corina Sas
Corina Sas lectures in human computer interaction. Her current research areas include spatial cognition and behaviour in virtual reality, usability studies and user modelling. Prior to joining the Computing Department Corina read for a PhD in Computer Science at University College Dublin. Her previous studies include an MA in Industrial and Organisational
Psychology from the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science and a BA in Psychology, from the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, Romania, where she also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and an Associated Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology.

Professor Alan Dix
Alan Dix has taught and researched in human-computer interaction (HCI) for over 20 years and he is the author of one of the most widely used textbooks on the subject used across the world. His interests in the area range from the application of formal techniques in interface design to methods for enhancing innovation and creativity. He began as a mathematician at Cambridge University and moved into computing and HCI whilst doing his PhD at University of York. His background also includes work on farm crop sprayers and remote controlled submarines. He was a founder director of two Internet dot.com companies and you can send his virtual Christmas crackers if you want a change from electronic cards.
