I had a great experience studying computing at Lancaster University! The flexibility of the course structure gave me lots of control in directing my studies into areas that interested me the most. I was impressed by the quality of the teaching, there is such a diverse range of modern facilities, I gained a thorough theoretical perspective through lectures, seminars and tutorials but also came away with a great deal of hands on experience with key technologies from the laboratory sessions.

The university itself is a self-contained campus university which I loved, everything you need is within walking distance including lectures, banks, library, cafes (and bars :) ), sports centre… the list goes on! There is plenty to do in the city too which is a 10 min bus ride away.

I continued in academia at Lancaster after my undergraduate studies and I am currently doing a PhD in Aspect-Oriented Software Development. The department has world-wide research connections which opens up  numerous collaboration opportunities – I am currently spending 1 year in Brazil working in the Informatics Department of PUC University in Rio de Janeiro.
