Masters in Distributed Systems Engineering (MSc)

Building on Lancaster’s internationally renowned Networking and Distributed Systems expertise this MSc gives a comprehensive grounding in advanced distributed systems engineering together with a deep insight into the technologies being utilised in large-scale networked enterprise and Internet systems. Students can choose from a range of relevant modules that build on and contextualise the core distributed systems knowledge, including mobile computing, ubiquitous computing and advanced topics in networking.

This masters is designed for students who have already studied Computer Science or a closely related subject as their first degree and now wish to move their skills, particularly in large scale distributed systems, up to the next level. Graduates from this course will have an appreciation of how to design resilient and high performance networked software, important for modern business to business and Internet focused industries. It is also a preparation for a research career focusing in the distributed systems or middleware areas.
