ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
The University offers over 200 single and combined honours undergraduate degree programmes, with opportunities in many courses for study abroad in the USA, Europe or Japan, plus work experience as part of the University's Active Learning Programme. Course structures are flexible and assessment is based on coursework as well as examinations. Lancaster consistently ranks among the top ten UK universities for both teaching and research.

The current £170 million building programme includes InfoLab21, the Lancaster Environment Centre, the Lancaster Leadership Centre, the Institute for Advanced Studies, and the new residential development Alexandra Park (with the Barkers House Farm social and learning space on the south west campus). The University has over 10,000 students and over 900 academic staff. Among the students are about 2,500 from over a hundred different countries including Greece, the USA, India, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Germany and Cyprus.

LANCASTER UNIVERSITY Lancaster University was founded in 1964 and is set in 250 acres of beautiful landscaped parkland, three miles from Lancaster city centre. The campus is like a small town, with its own Health Centre (including Doctors' and Dentists'
surgeries and a pharmacy), shops, hairdresser, travel agent, banks and a post office as well as restaurants, fast food outlets and ten bars. The Campus has excellent sporting facilities which include a 25 metre indoor swimming pool,
badminton, squash and tennis courts, a floodlit outdoor pitch, a sauna and solarium, weight training and fitness rooms.
