Overview of ActivitiesMy research focuses on mobile HCI, pervasive computing, human-computer interaction and mobile computing. In the last years I worked primarily on mobile interactions in which the user interacts with the real world through a mobile device which interacts with smart objects.
ProfileI joined the Lancaster University in 2006. Prior to coming to Lancaster, I worked between February 2004 and September 2006 as a research assistant and PhD student in the Embedded Interaction (former personal homepage) and the Media Informatics Group (former personal homepage) at the University of Munich (LMU). I received my doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) at the University of Munich (Germany) in 2007.
Between September 2002 and January 2004 I worked as a research assistant in the Heinz-Nixdorf Endowed Chair for Multimedia Technology (former personal homepage) at the Technical University of Dresden. Before that, I completed my MSc (German: Diplom, Title: Dipl.-Inf.) in Computer Science at the Technical University of Dresden.
