Brief biography:
Dimitris was born in Cholargos, Attica, and raised in Ilioupolis, Athens, Greece. He moved to England in 1997 and obtained a BSc (Hons) in computer science from Lancaster University in 2000. His dissertation focused on analysing the performance of networked multimedia applications and protocols. He was awarded his PhD for his work in the areas of Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning and Measurement, Monitoring and Control (MMC) for multi-service computer networks. His doctoral work has been funded by Agilent Technologies Inc. through an industrial fellowship. Dimitris is now employed as a postdoctoral research associate by the Computing Department at Lancaster. He has recently completed a 3-year EPSRC-funded project (P2POpt), and is currently working on the EU-FP6 Autonomic Network Architecture (ANA) project. His main research interests are Internet measurements and traffic performance evaluation. Dimitris is a member of the IEEE and the ACM.
