On 11 August 1999, there was a total solar eclipse visible through Europe and the Middle East. Starlab organised a field trip to Northern France and the zone of Totality. |

The above picture was taken with my digital camera, on a tripod, just as the period of totality was ending. It was a lucky shot. The dozens of others (on the following pages) I took weren't nearly as lucky. On the following pages, I will try to piece together as much of a narrative as I can with the photos I took.
