Downloadable Software

Available from here: Rendezvous, plagiarism and assessment online, link to Liftshare Magic, and TRAMP software

Rendezvous

Rendezvous work focuses on the effects of "loose causal consistency" between distributed users within an application, investigating the potential of this loose connection as a means of coping with very high latency, such as that found on a mobile phone. These downloads largely feature games used in the process of experimentation.

Plagiarism

Over the last few years a lot of work has been put into the prevention of plagiarism at universities, in particular "cut and paste" plagiarism from the web, a number of software mechanisms are now in place for teachers and lecturers to use.

The original page on how to use Turnitin, and early versions of Jisc can be found here, although they are now obsolete.

For universities in the UK registered toJISC, instructions and details of potentially helpful files to download can be found here.

Both of these TRAMP downloads are BETA releases - you have been warned. There are a lot of glitches in the system. Feel free to fix them, I'll be delighted, but don't be surprised. I'll try to warn you about the more major pitfalls in the documentation.
