SYNOPSIS OF EXPERIENCE IN DATA PROCESSING

I have been involved in the data processing industry in some capacity or other for some 30 years. I started as a Data Entry Control Clerk in 1966 and worked my way through programming to systems analysis and design, mainly in the commercial mainframe environment. I have, therefore, been involved with the running, development, testing and installing of commercial batch, on-line and database systems. During my years with F International (now FI Group plc) I also performed estimating activities (man hours, costs and elapsed times for various software development phases) and auditing of programs (specifications and code) for quality assurance purposes. Latterly I have studied and worked at Lancaster University to enhance my academic qualifications. Here I have been introduced to object oriented techniques.
