System Development and Cooperative Work: Methods and Techniques

This is a joint academic-industrial project under the EPSRC and DTI supported CSCW Programme. The aim of SYCOMT is to develop robust methods and techniques for the development of CSCW systems within an industrial context. To achieve this aim the project brings together ethnographic studies of work and cybernetic analysis. The work is driven through a series of focused prototyping activities within a major 'high street' bank. The results of the project will be presented through a methods handbook and a series of delivery kits intended to improve analysts' best practice.
