It has been
said that there are as many definitions of leadership as those studying it.
This statement is also true of the plethora of theoretical and
methodological approaches that surround the study of leadership. Below is a
brief slide presentation which introduces some of these approaches, as well
as a more detailed review of the some of the literature that we have found
useful in our own research. The third paper on 'Following the leader'
is a more theoretical discussion of how we have approached our own
observational study of everyday educational leadership in the learning and skills
sector.
