Lancaster is a research institute which constantly strives to consolidate
its reputation as an international centre of excellence in software engineering,
education, research and development. Establishing the relevance of software
engineering techniques and methods in a real industrial context is an essential
part of this process so that the successful completion of Emergency is
directly relevant to this aim.
Additionally, Lancaster is attempting to diversify its income from primary
funding sources, such as UK Research Councils, and intends to exploit the
project results through consultancy services from a recently established
spin-off company named Quinag Consultants Ltd.
