Work within the DIRC project is structured into a set of overlapping project activities (PAs) which focus on particular dependability research issues. These activities last for varying lengths of time with different partners involved in different activities. Currently, the Lancaster team is principally involved in PA2 (Organisational culture and trust), PA3 (Design for dependability), PA7 (Dependable ubiquitous computing in the home) with more limited involvement in PA8 (Effective collaboration in design of dependable software). Other PAs have only been briefly described here with links to further information on other partner web sites.

Within the Lancaster team, we don't have a strict division of labour with individuals working in only 1 or 2 activities. Rather, most people take an interest in most things that are going on and get involved in these to a greater or lesser extent.
