| Research Associate in
the Computing Department at Lancaster University. I am an ethnographer
carrying out ethnomethodologically informed studies of Computer
Supported Co-operative Work (CSCW). Currently working on PA2: The
Impact of Organisational Culture and Trust on Dependability; PA3:
Design for Dependability & PA7: Dependable Ubiquitous Computing
in the Home (collaborative work with the Equator IRC). My research
interests include studies of IT use in work and in the 'home', human
factors in system design and methods in social enquiry. For the
last two years my research has focussed on Healthcare Informatics.
My PhD is a critique of claims to a feminist methodology. Previous
related research experience includes work on the ESRC 'Virtual Society'
programme - the 'Virtual Ethnography' project at the University
of Leeds which examined the use of technology in sixteen homes using
video recording techniques and conventional ethnographic methods. |
