A short presentation illustrates the salient features of the
DEBORA Project
The above image shows the main user interface display of the DEBORA client
software, including dialogs for information searching, rendering,
book reading - navigation, annotation, and page comparision, virtual book
collections, and shared workspace control.
The client prototype incorporates a full page thumbnail view. This allows
the user to easily control the fine-grained zoom location in the document
viewer window. Pages can be displayed side-by-side for visual comparision.
The above image shows the tooltip based annotation display of the DEBORA client.
Users can use highlighting tools, and annotation areas to mark documents
for further reference. Annotations may be shared with other users, and hence
collaboratively edited, thereby supporting CSCW style software interactions.
The page metadata display showing archive information about the current page.
This data can be augmented by the user.
Before using the client, the user should enter the Internet address of the
servers used by the client software to access stored information. Other user
interface settings can also be changed from this dialog.
On-line help is available in the tool to guide the user through its operation.
This will be provided in internationalized versions as required by
software evaluators.
Image display preference controls are available to allow the user to set
their preferred contrast and brightness of the displayed image. A filter is
also available for image sharpening. These controls can help correct badly
scanned images and also may be used to crisp up detail at extreme zoom factors.
The software is currently available for evaluation to
DEBORA project partners
in the internal project pages section of
this website.
