Searching using Ariadne: Tour 2

The search was done using the BIDS Bibliographic database system.
This is accessed remotely from the University of Bath.

Here we see the beginning stages of their first search.
We have clicked on the second card to expand it, showing the introductory screen of BIDS.
We have used the elision (fold) option to fold away the intial screens that result from logging on to bids.
Note the use of the annotation to indicate the meaning of the elided cards. The annotation window below the scrollbar shows the annotation, if any, of the selected card with the same colour annotation bar (at the bottom of each card). In this case we show the annotation associated with the first card on the screen: a fold. The second fold hides away a number of information screens that appears after logging onto BIDS.

The first thing that the users do is to choose the science database. Beginning a search with BIDS

The next pages continue a description of the searches undertaken in this first session.
