Transnational Technologies, Inc. has published "Software Reuse in Japan," a comprehensive 360-page report dealing with issues such as how to build software systems by combining existing components, modified code and new code, management practices in Japanese software factories, technologies and infrastructure supporting software reuse, government R & D programs in software engineering, software metrics for reuse and quality, barriers to implementation and how to handle them, and the industrialization of the software engineering process. It has developed a lecture series on software factories including the Hitachi factory and tools for National Technical University and plans to market tapes and lecture notes.
