Alenia-Finmeccanica is spread all in several divisions all over Italy, developing products in all tecnological fields of aerospace and electronics. As a relevant part of its activities, the Divisione Velivoli Difesa (Defence Aircraft Division) develops and subcontracts software subsystems that are critical components of avionics/ground equipment. Some of these systems are developed in the context of cooperative programmes involving other leading aerospace companies in Europe.
